This page is a general log of changes made for Paradisa's Soft Reboot for 2014. Where-ever possible I will link to the place wherein the finished piece is uploaded.
RETIRED CASTLE CONCEPTS
Look, the ghosts are just a ball of confusion. To date we don't know what they look like, how they work, where they hang around, etc, and they've gone from being Harry Potter-style House Elves to being these weird servants that just pop up when you need them. As far as I know, most characters don't seem to know about them or ever refer to them. As a result, we are nixing them. They are patently useless and cannot do anything that Paradisa itself cannot do invisibly. Paradisa can magically scrub your floors, draw you a bath, deliver a letter, serve your meals and give you things you wish for without any need for ghosts, so they are OUTTA HERE!
THE LOST ROOM
Nixed entirely. Just too old, too much lost to history.
RETIRED CASTLE LOCATIONS
PEACE PATROL HEADQUARTERS
Gone. Nothing is being done with the place, so it is just plain gone.
Gone. Collapsed into the indoor pool. In fact, I think people have been assuming them to be one and the same for a long time.
Gone. I don't know that anyone really used it, or that it served any purpose that couldn't be set up elsewhere; we can move any movie-watching events to the Ballroom.
ALTERED CASTLE LOCATIONS
Is now an entire tower. Boom. Pietas tower.
DINING ROOM / BALLROOM
The dining room and ballroom are now the same space, functionally. We have no need for both, as the Castle can move tables around as needed. Think Hogwarts' Great Hall being transformed for school events.
Unnecessary to have many different places for Paradisa's residents to plan/collaborate. Now the "War Room." Impetus tower.
GAMES ROOM / MUSIC ROOM
Now the Parlor. Gaudium tower.
New room, top of Ortus tower.
ALTERED CITY CONCEPTS
Mayor's office is now the office of the Steward of the City Royale, the unseen fellow who runs the city. No one really gave a shit about the mayor, so now we have a Steward.
We had a somewhat implied system of guards before; I'm not sure if we ever came up with something more complex than this. Regardless, we now have knights (to fit the setting) who patrol the walls, conduct drills and all sorts of things as if there will ever be a war or something.
Almost completely eliminated. While we are grandfathering certain cases, we will be discontinuing this concept in the future. Please contact Jenn to be sure she is aware of your characters' existing buildings. Future characters will only be able to rent from city people, they will not be able to obtain property.
